New Information and Release Date for Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

Some new information for the upcoming Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds has been revealed in today’s Nintendo Direct. We learn about the setting and time period of the game, which is in the same world as the original A Link to the Past. However, A Link Between Worlds takes place far in the future after Ganon was sealed in A Link to the Past. Therefore, the Link in this sequel is a different Link than the one in the previous game.

There’s also an important plot point brought up concerning the Legendary Triforce and related to the shadow Triforce seen in the game’s title. If there’s a dark world parallel to the normal one, wouldn’t there be a Triforce parallel to the original one in that dark world too? An interesting question indeed.

New gameplay footage was also shown in the Direct and it continues to impress, both graphically and creatively.  Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds will be released in November of this year for 3DS.
