New Jersey Devils Martin Brodeur Skates His Way onto the NHL 14 Cover

June 29, 2013

Electronic Arts, the National Hockey League and the National Hockey League Players’ Association announced New Jersey Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur has been selected by fans as the NHL 14 cover athlete. Brodeur defeated Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender and Vezina Trophy winner, Sergei Bobrovsky to claim the cover. The NHL 14 cover will be the first to feature a goaltender since John Vanbiesbrouck appeared on the cover of NHL ’97, as well as the first goaltender on any ice hockey video game cover since Marty Turco on 2K Sports’ NHL 2K6.

With over 22 million votes, the second annual EA Sports NHL Cover Vote campaign was a huge success and this is what Brodeur had to say about the honor of being selected by fans,

The support I’ve received throughout the cover vote campaign has been incredible,” said Brodeur. “My kids pushed me to participate in the campaign, and they are really excited to see their dad on the cover of the game they play all the time. I want to thank all the NHL fans who campaigned and voted for me.

NHL 14  will be available on September 10th, 2013 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Despite having a degree in English AND Journalism (multi-tasking FTW!) from the University at Albany-SUNY, she is currently interested in perusing a degree at Yale Law School, because one should never give up on a dream of becoming a gorgeous billionaire...and knowing how to sue someone as a result of those heated debates
