Yesterday, Famitsu teased a new survival JRPG by the team behind Danganronpa, titled Zanki Zero, and today the magazine released the first screenshots and artwork.

The game is described as a "Non-Stop Last Survivor RPG," and it's set in the ruins of the world that was destroyed by humanity in a single day, even if the cause of such a cataclysm is unknown.

That said, Zanki Zero doesn't feature the usual drab post-apocalyptic world, but since the world is now flooded by the sea, with only a few islands remaining, it's intentionally bright and colorful.

There are eight protagonists, and each chapter of the game has one of them at its focus. They will have to fight against the animal and survive in the abandoned environment.

The battle system includes action elements and battles transition seamlessly from exploration. Old age will also play a role.

At the moment the game is only 10% into development, so the release date is still far off, but no window was provided by the article. All we know is that it'll come for PS4 and PS Vita.

You can check out the first screenshot and artwork below (and yes, the senior citizens in one of the pictures are the old version of the protagonists). Just keep in mind that quality isn't the best due to the images coming from magazine scans.
