New Kickstarter to Return Jagged Alliance: Flashback to its Tactical Roots

Full Control announced a Kickstarter campaign that, if it successfully reaches its $350,000 goal, would result in a new Jagged Alliance game (called Jagged Alliance: Flashback) that returns the series to its tactical turned-based action roots.

Thomas Lund, CEO of Full Control, said:

The original Jagged Alliance was a thinking man’s game with a focus on characters, firepower and strategy. Our vision at Full Control is to bring back the tactical turn-based action that the original games were known for.

Jagged Alliance and Jagged Alliance 2 were hugely popular and well regarded by fans and critics alike. However, the third game in the series, Jagged Alliance – Back in Action received very mixed reviews due to its misguided attempts to “upgrade” the series and make it more “accessible” and less tactical. The following games in the series, Jagged Alliance 3D and Jagged Alliance 3, never saw the light of day due to a very convoluted legal battle.

Do you think Full Control’s Kickstarter will succeed? And if it does, do you think it will successfully reboot the franchise?

The project gathered $32,412 at the moment of this writing. You can help as well by pledging your support here.
