New Langrisser “Restart” Game Teased with Countdown; Reveal Coming in Two Weeks

A new Langrisser game is being teased, mentioning the "restart" of the old and glorious JRPG franchise which debuted on Mega Drive.

Chara Ani Games and Masaya Games just opened a teaser website announcing the “restart” or the Langrisser franchise in 2018.

The website includes a countdown expiring two weeks from now, and a presentation event is scheduled in Kagurazaga, Tokyo, on August 29th.

The Langrisser series will prove very familiar to many fans of tactical JRPGs. With the first game for Sega Mega Drive dating all the way back to 1991 and published in the west as Warsong, it included a ton of games for several platforms. The last title of the series is Langrisser Re:Incarnation -TENSEI-, released for 3DS in 2016, but that one was quite different from earlier titles, well known for the beautiful character design by Satoshi Urushihara.

It’ll be certainly interesting to see if this “restart” means something closer to the earlier games of the series, but we won’t know until the countdown expires.
