Konami has announced that an August update is coming to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. This update adds a few new features with the most notable being the ability to play as Ocelot in Forward Operating Base missions.
He will not be customizable, but he does come with a few unique perks: he has slightly better camouflage and faster reload and weapon draw times. In addition, Ocelot can dual-wield pistols and use ricochet bullets on marked enemies.
The update also comes with several new swimsuits for Forward Operating Base staff, and they can wear them when defending your base or attacking enemies. Diamond Dog soldiers will also get two new outfits, both of which increase movement speed. You can see the outfits at the bottom of this article.
Along with all this, there will also be newly added functionality for the Wormhole Generator. The item can now automatically extract the player when in a critical situation, it can no longer be removed by opponents and is harder to destroy.
Konami’s blog post states the update is slated for release close to August 1. This is the first update in a long time for the game; Konami’s last published patch notes are from August 2016.
