Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia began its press conference in Tokyo with a bang by announcing a new model for PS Vita.

It’s a new PS Vita WiFi model. While keeping its main features, it’s 20 percent thinner and 15 percent lighter. It will feature six different colors and with longer battery life (6 hours), comes pre-packed with a 1 GB memory card and will be released in Japan on October the 10th.

Those that will buy the new PlayStation Vita in Japan will also receive  three months of free PlayStation Plus. Sales of the old 3G/Wi-Fi PlayStation Vita will continue for the time being, while the old Wi-Fi model will be discontinued.
