Today during the Hunting Rival event in Akihabara, Capcom released new screenshots for the latest installment of the hunter series, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. The screenshots reveal new monster subspecies, returning monsters, and a new field.

The returning monsters shown in the screenshots are the desert tyrant flying wyvern Diablos, the ultimate shield crab daimyo Hermitaur, the sand wyvern Cephadrome, and the one horned wyvern Monoblos.

The new subspecies making their first appearance include the Kechawacha subspecies, the Tetsucabra subspecies, the Zamtrios subspecies, the Najarala subspecies, the Seltas subspecies, the Seltas Queen subspecies and the Nerscylla subspecies.

The new field featured is the Old Desert, where in ancient times both hunters and monsters alike have battled it out within this vast desert. Like the desert lands from previous games, it shares similar landscapes such as wide open plains, caves and canyons, although it is uniquely home to a swirling pool of quicksand.

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is releasing in Japan on October 11 and North America and Europe on early 2015.
