Leading up to its launch in September, a new trailer for NBA 2K20 has been released that highlights the game's MyCareer story mode.

Executive produced by Lebron James' SpringHill Entertainment, When The Lights Are Brightest lets players experience the life of an NBA athlete both on and off the court. The trailer also shows off the highs and lows of being a basketball player that's trying to make it to the top. Additionally, the story mode stars Idris Elba, Rosario Dawson, Thomas Middleditch, Ernie Hudson, Lamorne Morris, Maverick Carter, and Lebron James. Even Steve Urkel himself Jaleel White makes an appearance towards the end of the trailer.

As someone who doesn't really play sports games, the idea of 2K20 having a story mode makes the game even more interesting. Between the NBA 2K games and Madden NFL among others, adding a story mode makes it even more of an incentive to pick up a copy, even if the story mode is cliche or overdramatic. Additionally, it keeps the experience fresh for those that might be feeling burned out by a particular sports game.

NBA 2K20 on September 6 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The game is available for preorder on Amazon now.
