New Nier Trailer Surfaces, Shows Gameplay

February 23, 2010

Square-Enix has more RPGs on their plate than just the big one coming March 9.  Nier is an interesting take on the action RPG genre that looks to satisfy fans of darker stories while still presenting us with the JRPG aesthetic.  If you haven’t been keeping up on this title, you’ll play as Nier (big surprise there) as he sets off on a quest to find a cure for what ails his daughter, all along the way making friends and enemies as many-an-RPG involves.  He’ll eventually find out the dark truth about this ailment, his daughter and himself (that sounds ominous).  Nier is on the heavy side of the action RPG genre, so look for some rather intense action sequences.  Look for Nier on both the Xbox 360 and PS3 this spring, on April 27.  This new trailer seems to be mostly game play footage, although some of it is questionable.  All of it is action-packed and filled with eye candy, so hit the jump and check it out.
