New Online DC Comics Game Unveiled: Infinite Crisis

March 25, 2013

With NetherRealm’s alternate reality fighter Injustice: Gods Among Us coming soon, it’s interesting to see a game based entirely on DC Comics’ alternate realities, which is what Turbine Games’ newly revealed Infinite Crisis seems to offer.

Infinite Crisis–much like Sony Online Entertainment’s DC Universe Online–allows players to battle in free-to-play online arena style battles. Turbine Games–the studio behind The Lord of the Rings Online–say that the game will be set in DC’s legendary Multiverse, featuring a wide variety of heroes and villains from popular worlds. These characters and worlds (which can be seen in the trailer and screenshots below) feature realities such as Batman: Red Rain (in which Batman is a demonic vampire) and Gotham by Gaslight (in which a Victorian Batman hunted down Jack the Ripper), as well as others. Interested gamers can check out the Infinite Crisis website for a chance to sign up for the Beta.

Masoud House

Born and raised in video games and "geek culture," Masoud has been bred off of fantasy worlds his entire life and doesn't see anything wrong with that. He loves RPGs (especially TRPGs), sandbox games, the sci-fi genre, dieselpunk, art deco, and anything that allows him to create. Having graduated from John Jay College with a degree in English and a minor in Creative Writing, Masoud hopes to one day pen the same novels, comics, movies, and video games he enjoys escaping into when the real world gets too boring.
