Brush Up on Your PlayStation History; New European Contest Opens for a Chance to Purchase a 20th Anniversary PS4 Console

Over the last few weeks, video game fans all over have been clamoring for the newly-unveiled 20th Anniversary PS4 console to celebrate the birthday of PlayStation, with quantities of the rare console being few in stock – luckily though, PlayStation UK has opened up another chance to grab one of the beautiful, nostalgic consoles.

In a new post on the European PlayStation Community page, a contest has been opened up allowing winners to purchase a 20th Anniversary PS4 console from retailer Game at regular retail price, with the contest beginning today and running throughout this week in a series of daily contests.

The contest involves entrants following the Twitter accounts for both Game and PlayStation UK, which will both be sending a “Tweet of the Day” referring to a specific PlayStation character, one of 300, and being one of the first 100 entrants to correctly guess the character on a secret web page to purchase the console.

In addition to the contest, the EU PlayStation Community page also detailed that those that are not in the first 100 entrants will also be entered into a daily prize draw, where one lucky entrant will be chosen at random to win a 20th Anniversary console. PlayStation UK detailed in its blog post:

“The consoles will be available on a first come first served basis with Game via the application page, they will not be available from Don’t worry if you miss it, there will be a new allocation of stock every day from Monday until Friday next week giving you five separate chances to pick-up the PlayStation 4 20th Anniversary Edition Console.”

PlayStation UK’s contest to win a 20th Anniversary PS4 console (or purchase one) will be running now through December 19th, 2014 – you can click here for the full details and restrictions on the contest, and note that consoles will not be able to be shipped outside of the UK.
