Sony Computer Entertainment just announced via Twitter that the new PCH-2000 PS Vita, slimmer and lighter than the predecessor, but equipped with an LCD screen instead of the old OLED one, will land on the North American shores.

And yep, the slimmer, lighter PS Vita is coming to North America. Full details coming soon, stay tuned.

No more details on pricing and launch dates have been provided for the moment. Of course we'll keep you updated as soon as Sony shares anything relevant on the topic.

Update: Sony was fast at releasing further details: the console will come in a limited edition bundle including a PCH-2000 Vita, Borderlands 2 and a 8 GB memory card. The price will be $199.99 and the release window is a rather generic "this spring." There is no information, at the moment, about a stand-alone release, but below you can see the announcement trailer just released by the publisher.
