Sony London’s SingStar is finally moving to the next generation with SingStar: Ultimate Party, celebrating the 10 years of the franchise launching before the end of the year.
The game will be compatible with a brand new Android and iOS smartphone app that will turn the device into a microphone, and will come packed with 30 songs.
Players will be able to share their performances on the SingStar community, but also on Twitter and Facebook, and to use the PlayStation Camera to “dress up” their living room and turn it into an augmented reality music studio.
Game Director Chris Bruce accompanied the announcement with a comment:
I’m really enthusiastic about what we’ve done with SingStar to bring the game to PS4 as well. And thanks to the smartphone app, now SingStar is accessible to everyone.
According to Sony Worldwide Studios Europe Director Dave Reynard the franchise sold 26 million copies so far, and users downloaded 25 million songs.
It’ll be possible to download songs directly from the singstore for €1.39 each, or in packs of five priced €6.49. The retail version will be launched for €29.00.
Below you can see the new trailer and a batch of screenshots, the logo and key artwork (which is more like a picture, I guess) sent directly by SCEE via press release.
