New Quantum Conundrum Screenshots Show the Heavier Side of Things

March 13, 2012

If you were at GDC last week and got your mitts on Kim Swift and Airtight Games’ pretty puzzle pursuit Quantum Conundrum, then you already know that the charming mash-up of Portal and innocent dark humor is wildly appealing. For those of you that didn’t get that chance, there’s always my hands-on preview. And if you’re totally lazy, here are some screenshots of the Heavy Dimension.

The Heavy Dimension is where, well, everything is heavy. Ten times heavier, to be exact. In the shoes of Professor Quadwrangle’s nephew, players can use a device called the Interdimensional Shift Device to change the properties of his surrounding environment — most notably, their material and weight. Check out the preview of the iron-and-metal dimension below, and keep your eyes peeled for a PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC release of Quantum Conundrum.
