During today's Sega Nama stream, which was also the final Sega Nama stream of the Heisei era, Sega's Toshihiro Nagoshi confirmed that new information on New Sakura Wars, or Shin Sakura Taisen, will be revealed at Sega Fes 2019. Toshihiro Nagoshi confirmed that Sega will "definitely" show the game during the event.

Technically, "New Sakura Wars" is a tentative title, so there's a high chance the game's final name will be revealed during Sega Fes 2019 as well as a new teaser trailer.

New Sakura Wars is developed by Valkyria Chronicles 4's team, which is a given seeing the history of both franchises.  Sakura Wars has always been popular in Japan and getting into various crossover games or mobage through collaborations and such, but the rate of these events increased since the announcement of New Sakura Wars, with Sakura Wars characters getting into multiple Sega related games like Star Ocean Anamnesis.

New Sakura Wars was revealed during Sega Fes 2018 one year ago, so many already believed that new information will be coming at Sega Fes 2019.  Even more so as a Sakura Wars Expo will be held during the event, though those happen regularly as well. Some, myself included, believed even more in Sakura Wars news coming at Sega Fes 2019, seeing a sign in the fact that Hiroshi Fujioka, Segata Sanshiro himself, will be making an appearance to meet fans on March 30 and celebrate Sega Saturn's 25th anniversary. In any case, it's great to have an official confirmation now.

The game was initially supposed to release before the end of March 2019 but was delayed. Toshihiro Nagoshi also previously teased in November that we'll get to see the game soon.  This is it now.

Sega Fes 2019 will be held on March 30 and 31.  The event will also include many new announcements, including some for the tentatively named Mega Drive Mini.
