New Set of LEGOS for The Hobbit May Have Revealed LEGO The Hobbit Video Game for 2014

With the trilogy of movies based on The Hobbit about to receive its second act, The Desolation of Smaug, over the holiday season, a new batch of LEGO toy sets will be arriving in 2014 to go alongside the movie – and it seems like possibly even a new LEGO video game based on the series.

In a forum post on LEGO community site Brickset, an image for a new LEGO video game based on the franchise (titled LEGO The Hobbit) appeared in an instruction manual for the upcoming set of new LEGO sets based on the movie, that are currently scheduled to arrive in 2014. The advertisement features the logo, a picture of several characters from the films (Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf, and Thorin Oakenshield), and a message in French – “Coming Sortie Prévue en 2014” (Coming in 2014).

The bottom of the ad features the usual fine text, along with developer TT Games and publisher Warner Bros. Games, who have previously made all of the other LEGO video game properties. Currently, the add lists mostly current-gen consoles on the bottom, with logos for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, 3DS, and PC, but presumably an Xbox One/PS4 release for the game would not be out of the question either.

Stay tuned for more info on the potential release of LEGO The Hobbit, if the 2014 release date is to be expected.
