New SimCity Interactive Website Lets You Vote on the Fate of Cities

February 26, 2013

Want a chance to play SimCity before release, kind of? The kicker is that you won’t actually be building the city, but you will be able to watch the city being built live and vote alongside everyone else on important city-building (or city-destroying) decisions.

Every day a new city will be made available on this interactive site (that at the moment of this writing is being slammed with intense traffic, so some patience might be in order) starting today with “Disaster City” and ending on March the 4th with a “four cities multitasking extravaganza” (or so the site says).

Currently the masses just voted an Armageddon-like meteor strike on the city. Is anyone surprised? Where’s Bruce Willis?

Electronic arts even released a rather…weird trailer, that you can see below. Be warned, what has been seen cannot be unseen. I don’t take responsibility for any brain cell you’ll lose in the process.

Giuseppe Nelva

Hailing from sunny (not as much as people think) Italy and long standing gamer since the age of Mattel Intellivision and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
