New Sonic Game Finally Announced by Sega: Sonic Mania for PS4, Xbox One and PC

During a livestream dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Sonic franchise, Sega finally announced the much rumored and teased next game of the series.

The new game is titled Sonic Mania, and it’ll come out in spring 2017 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

It’ll be a new 2D Sonic game combining the classic experience with all new stages. Three playable characters will be included: Sonic, Knuckles and Tails. Original stages will also be included, but with “new twists.”

It’s a collaboration between SEGA, Christian Whitehead, Headcannon, and PagodaWest Games, and you can check out the the first trailer below.

Update: if you fancy something a little more modern, Sega also showcased the first trailer of a game code named Project Sonic 2017, a fully new experience by Sonic Team.
