According to a new report shared exclusively to Dualshockers by Accountngt the new Star Wars game is codenamed, Project Walton. For the uninitiated, AccNgt is quite a credible leaker in the gaming industry with an excellent track record and is the person who leaked Star Wars Eclipse details way before anyone knew about it. Coming back to the leak itself, it is further stated that the game is the revival of the Project Ragtag, which was being developed by Visceral Games before the studio shut down in 2017, and the project was canceled in 2019.

New Star Wars Game Revival of Visceral Games Project Ragtag, Based On Rebel Alliance Era: Report

Furthermore, it is also stated that the game will be based on the Rebel Alliance era, which is also known as the Classic era, where the original trilogy (Episode IV A New Hope, Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, and Episode VI Return of the Jedi) took place. Notably, Project Ragtag was also reportedly based right before Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, so this does make a lot of sense.

This news should excite a number of fans out there as many were eagerly looking forward to the canceled Visceral Games Project. There was some ambiguity around the fact whether it will be a revival of the project or not, considering the fact that EA was involved in that as well, while the new game is being developed by Skydance New Media entirely. However, it is very much likely that Lucasfilms owned the rights to the game, so it was eyeing reviving the project. With Amy Hennig at the helm of Skydance New Media, there could not be a better candidate for the revival of Project Ragtag.
