New Steam Beta Update Adds Ability to Remotely Manage Game Library

on May 2, 2012 11:00 AM

A new beta client of Steam has been released and its main feature is the ability to remotely manage your library from another PC or your mobile device. What this boils down to is that you can now install Steam games to your computer from any web browser that can access the Steam website. While this isn’t the biggest news in the world it’s certainly very interesting in the opportunities it presents.

Now you can impulse buy games on Steam while you’re supposed to be working and have them installed and ready to go when you get home! Not going to be home the night a game launches that doesn’t offer pre-loading? Needless to say this is pretty awesome. If you need help figuring out remote management check this page, otherwise try to remember this next time you need to install a game!
