Image & Form Games have announced today via a new episode of their "Engine Room" video series that a new SteamWorld project is underway for 2017.

Revealed below at around the three minute mark, the game will be available for fans to play at the Penny Arcade Expo East in Boston from March 10th to the 12th. The developer mentioned that hopefully it'll be playable at other gaming events as well, though didn't specify exactly which ones.

It was also announced that the previous two entries in the franchise, SteamWorld Heist and SteamWorld Dig, will be discounted for the holiday season, with the former game reduced 50% in price and the latter reduced 80%.

More SteamWorld ambassador challenges will be underway next year too, giving those who sign up more insight on development and free games across platforms.

Finally, Image & Form announced a giveaway of copies of SteamWorld Collection for PlayStation 4 and Wii U, available for entry from now until December 31st.

The last entry in the series launched on December 10, 2015 on Nintendo 3DS, then moved onto iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Wii U. Development on Xbox One and Android platforms was put on an indefinite hiatus late last month.  DualShockers reviewed SteamWorld Heist noting “hardcore turn-based strategy fans should be able to enjoy the interesting setting, light-hearted humor, and graduated difficulty modes.”
