Marvelous announced in this week's issue of Famitsu Magazine that a new Story of Seasons game is in development. Nothing else was revealed about the game for now besides that it's for home consoles. It's highly likely it will release on Switch though, as all recent Story of Seasons games were released on portable platforms.

The last game in the franchise is currently Bokujou Monogatari: Futago no Mura+/Story of Seasons: The Tale of Two Towns+ released only in Japan on 3DS in 2017.

In any case, Marvelous itself is working on a new game, in parallel to the other new Story of Seasons game releasing this June on Switch in Japan, Doraemon Nobita no Bokujou Monogatari. The game is a crossover between Story of Seasons and kids franchise Doraemon. The game is developed by Studio Brownies, the independent studio helmed by Mana JRPGs artist Shinichi Kameoka. A Story of Seasons mobile game, a first in history, is also in development by Tencent. Lastly, the Rune Factory franchise, which initially started as a Story of Seasons spinoff, is coming back with Rune Factory 4 Special on Switch and Rune Factory 5, also on Switch.
