The Last of Us Remastered has some really high resolution textures, and that turns environments that were originally lovely but a bit short in detail into incredible into beautiful pieces of digital art.

A few more screenshots of the game and a comparison GIF with the PS3 version have been posted on NeoGAF by users [NaK]Wishmaster92 and Flail, and they're absolutely perfect to showcase this kind of improvement, even thanks to the low compression ratio.

Click on the GIF below to start the animation, and the difference is extremely easy to spot on the brick textures. Of course Joel's model and textures are radically improved as well.
