Today The Creative Assembly published the fifth episode of its videocast Rally Point for our viewing pleasure. To make things even more interesting this episode includes a segment with Total War: Rome II Unit Design Lead Jack Lusted, that shares quite a few details about the upcoming strategy game.

Jack, that many will remember as a very active member and modder within the Total War community before jumping the trench and getting hired at Creative Assembly, talks about naval combat and its interaction with land warfare, independent factions, historical figures and natural disasters. He also touches on the fact that Total War: Rome II will mark a radical departure from Shogun II (thankfully), featuring the widest variety of units of any Total War game, with a total of about 700 across all the factions.
