If you’re one of those people who goes nuts for trains but doesn’t have a huge creepy basement wherein you can set up a massive, Gomez Addams style toy train set, NV3 Games has your back.  For a limited time, Apple is selling Trainz iPad for $0.99 via their fabled internet bazaar, The App Store.

New features include a streamlined touch input, new rain and snow weather conditions, improved lighting, new controls granting users dominion over both weather and time of day,  and a new content menu which allows you to upload your own custom tracks and download those created by other Trainz players. Check after the break for more features and an image gallery.

Those buying the game for an iPad 2 gain additional features — advanced lighting options, the addition of fog to the weather options as well as certain environmental conditions to which weather effects will react, and advanced water effects.

Sto Austin is the man. Period. When not saving the world from the next generation of Metal Gears or throwing hadoukens at his detractors, chances are he's writing about someone else doing something similarly epic, possibly whilst smoking a cigar. He enjoys games with a strong emphasis on story, which typically fall into the RPG, Action/Adventure, or Horror genres, though he also has a soft spot for fighting games and has been known, when feeling saucy, to shred on some Guitar Hero or Rock Band. He currently divides his time between Florida and Maine, tromping up and down the East coast according to the whims of fate and fortune.
