New Video for Final Fantasy XIII-2 Showcases the Historia Crux System

It also has a lot of Serah and Noel running around across absolutely stunning field screens. If you watch the video below, you’ll see our heroes and their moogle traversing a variety of terrain, but my absolute favorite part is when you come to about 45 seconds in. Serah hops up on this rugged outcrop of rock and starts walking. As the camera slowly pans around, you see Cocoon in the sky with crystal encasing parts of it, then the sunglare creates this really stunning vista that I can’t wait to see in-game.

The point of this video is to show off the Historia Crux system, which is the means by which Noel and Serah travel through time. It’s from the Japanese side of Square-Enix, since that release is coming up here in a little over a week. If you missed it earlier, a video from their Europe branch released a trailer focusing on exploration and the environments, as well.
