Amazon Game Studios has some big plans for its upcoming title, New World, which is promised to be supported by the developer for over ten years.

Speaking to Xbox Magazine, some of the senior developers behind New World revealed new details on its gameplay and the studio's plans for the future of the game. First of all, New World will be using Amazon Web Servers in order to bring a smooth experience of an MMORPG thanks to Amazon's powerful cloud servers. According to Scot Lane, game director, this will allow them "to push things in ways they haven't been pushed before."

Unlike most of the MMO games available in the market, New World will be using a class-based system for its weapons instead of characters, allowing you to change your way of fighting anytime based on the weapons you'd like to hold and armors you'd like to wear. David Verfaillie, head of Player Experience, made it clear that they will support the game and improve its combat system simultaneously for over ten years after launch.

According to Lane, New World's combats are based on your skills to a high degree. So, if you are a veteran in games such as Dark Souls, it wouldn't be tough for you to take down enemies with much higher levels in New World.

When it comes to weapons, New World delivers a wide variety of options to you from gunpowder guns to the typical swords. Magic will also available in the game but not as a standalone weapon, in order to make it "more substantial than ethereal."

If you are interested in having a chance to play the game earlier, make sure to take part in the closed-beta which will be happening in June. At first, New World was supposed to launch next month, but due to some unpredictable challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the game was delayed to launch on August 25. It will only be available on PC at launch.

Aside from New World, Amazon Game Studios is working on other unannounced projects as the company is planning to make its presence stronger than before in the video game industry.
