Sega's Toshihiro Nagoshi Gives New Details on the Next PS4 Yakuza Game
Some development updates on the next, brand new Yakuza PS4 game were shared by Toshihiro Nagoshi.
On this month’s Sega Nama stream, held on May 28, Sega’s Toshihiro Nagoshi gave some development updates on the next Yakuza PS4 game. Nagoshi spoke about the game near the end of the stream, revealing new details.
First off, Toshihiro Nagoshi announced that they recently finished the game’s scenario. They’re also dubbing the game now and it’s going well.
He also mentioned that this next Yakuza PS4 game will include a certain popular actor they will reveal later. Beat Takeshi already appeared in Yakuza, and the studio’s latest game, Judgment, has the ultra-popular Kimura Takuya portraying its protagonist. It seems we’ll get to see another amazing actor in the next Yakuza game.
Nagoshi also mentioned that the story is still the usual Yakuza kind of story, but will feel different as well, seeing new protagonist Kasuga is quite different from Kiryu. He’s much more talkative and reacts differently to certain situations. This means we’ll see completely new gameplay elements as well.
An audition is currently ongoing to find the actress who will portray one of the main characters in the next Yakuza game. We’ve been keeping an eye on it and you can read our latest story about it, covering the 2nd phase of the audition. The audition will end in July, meaning we’ll see the face of another character then, along with new information.
Gameplay of the PS4 remaster version of Yakuza 5, launching on June 20 in Japan, was also shown on stream.
This next Yakuza game for PS4 might be launching before March 2020, but it has no precise release date as of now.
