Electronic Arts subsidiary EA Sports has just announced that an open beta of NHL 18 is now available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

In a recent blog post, the publisher shared that the beta can be downloaded on the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace. It will be available until Tuesday, August 8th, so if you are unsure whether or not you want to purchase the game, this will be your only chance to try it for free before the game's official release date.

To access the beta, players will need an internet connection and account set up with EA. You will also need to accept the terms and conditions for the test.

NHL '18's beta will offer three different modes for you to try out: EA Sports Hockey League, which will allow players the option to play a full 3-on-3 match or 6-on-6. The second mode available will be NHL Threes a 3-on-3 arcade mode with no offsides, no icing; not to mention every penalty you receive will send you straight to center ice for a penalty shot. Lastly, the beta will offer an online mode, allowing you to play in online matches against anyone.

If you would like to check out more information on the game you can check out the game's teaser trailer as well as a new gameplay trailer. NHL 18 will launch on September 15th on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
