Today Bandai Namco released a new update to Level-5's lovely JRPG Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom.

The update adds two brand new levels of difficulty that can be selected at the beginning of the game, Hard, and Expert. We also get new rare items and a plethora of tweaks and bug fixes.

Playing on harder difficulty modes won't just increase the level of challenge, but also the quality of dropped items and the frequency of drops.

If you're curious, you can check out a few screenshots from the accompanying press release below.

We learned at the end of May that the game shipped 900,000 copies, pushing the series past 2.8 million units shipped cumulatively between all games. There have been no updates since, but hopefully, it's closer to a million now. In the meanwhile, you can enjoy our review.

Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is currently available for PS4 and PC. If you want to purchase this absolutely charming JRPG, you can grab a copy of the game on Amazon.
