Today, publisher Bandai Namco released a new video flaunting its upcoming role-playing game, Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, and its unique gameplay mechanics.

As seen in the trailer below, you can see three of the game's protagonists engage in combat against a giant mushroom and the Jelly Queen which looks to be a boss by the looks of the enemy's distinctive life bar. You will be able to switch between the characters — each with their own abilities — in real-time combat. Also exemplified is the game's music by Joe Hisaishi.

Developed by Level-5 Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom has had quite the journey since it was initially revealed at PlayStation Experience 2015. Plenty of details have been shared including screenshots, gameplay trailers, special editions, and its release date.

At Sony's E3 2017 press conference, it was revealed that the game was going to launch in November of this year, but got delayed for a January 2018 release; the game's Director Akihiro Hino stated that more development time was needed to "deliver the full Ni no Kuni II experience for our fans." However, the game has been delayed a second time and is set to launch on March 23rd, 2018 for PlayStation 4 and PC.
