NieR: Automata 2B Becomes Immortalized in This Impressive Cosplay
Cosplayer, Model and Wigmaker Shirogane-sama from Russia embodies the quintessential 2B from Nier: Automata
Nier: Automata by developers PlatinumGames intrigued players everywhere when it released for PlayStation and PC on 23 February 2017 and even today, gamers hold this critically-acclaimed action role-playing title to high regard. Thankfully, the Xbox One folk got their chance to see what the fuss was about too when a port came to the Microsoft platform in June last year.
Probably the most recognizable character in Nier: Automata is 2B – a YoRHa android created to battle the machine lifeforms that have invaded the planet on behalf of the surviving humans. Due to 2B’s unique appearance, cosplayers everywhere try to recreate the look of this protagonist, but few perfect it as well as shirogane_sama as she is known on Twitter and Instagram.
We see shirogane sport 2B’s iconic eyewear which is referred to as a “military visor” or “goggles.” in the game that apparently allows 2B and other YoRHa units to see things that they wouldn’t normally be able to see that help them in battle situations. In the game, 2B rarely removes this, but here we can get an idea on how 2B would look without them.
Shirogane does an impeccable job at delving into the persona of 2B, even recreating 2B’s dress herself which looks like it would be an extremely time-consuming job, but like everything Shirogane does – who hails from Russia – she makes it look effortless and professional.
If you happen to be on the cosplay scene, you’ll know Shirogane is no stranger to cosplaying as many different characters. One of her most renown costumes is that of her incredible Persona 5 effort in 2017 when she took on the role of Ann. It was so good that it even got a featured spot in Kotaku.
If you’re a pretty big fan of Yoko Taro’s Nier: Automata and would enjoy your very own 2B figure, you can pre-order one over on the Square Enix’s online store, which should get to you sometime in July.
