Published by Square Enix and developed by PlatinumGames, NieR Automata is a popular action role-playing game. The video game came out in 2017 and featured several interesting story elements.

Millions of players loved NieR Automata because of its incredible story, spectacular graphics, and engaging gameplay. Now, the story of Android 2B will be told in the form of an anime adaptation.

Nier Automata Anime Adaptation Announced

A few days back, some rumors surfaced on the internet that NieR Automata is getting an anime adaptation. Well, it turns out the rumors were true, as Square Enix confirmed the news on its much-awaited 5th anniversary live stream.

According to the official announcement, A-1 Pictures is working on the upcoming TV animation of Nier Automata. It's the same studio that worked on Sword Art Online, Erased, Kaguya-sama: Love is War, and several other anime projects.

Interestingly, the anime announcement was accompanied by the first PV for the project. The black and white PV gives us a look at the Android 2B in all her glory. Here you go; take a look at the official teaser yourself:

Of course, it's exciting that NieR Automata is getting a TV anime, but there's no official release window for the project. Nevertheless, since the anime is already in production, we can expect it to arrive sometime in 2023.

Apart from the anime announcement, the live stream featured the staff of the NieR Automata game talking about the game's journey and the upcoming merch. They spoke of the success of the game and also released a new art featuring Android 2B and Android 9S.
