NieR: Automata Devs Ask if You’d Buy a Custom PS4 or PS4 Pro Dedicated to the Game

Today Square Enix released a poll via Twitter asking “tentatively” (and maybe a bit tongue-in-cheek) whether people would like to buy a custom NieR: Automata PS4 or PS4 pro.

The question makes it very clear that this is just a tentative inquiry, so don’t take it for granted for now.

“Tentatively… and this is just tentative, but we’re still asking you. If there was a custom NieR console, would you want it?

The answers are, from top to bottom: “I’d buy it,” “I’d buy two,” “I’d buy, and a Pro as well,” “I wouldn’t buy it.”

Game Director Taro Yoko also chimed in with his own idea, and obviously it was a bit tongue-in-cheek as well.

“If there was a custom Nier console, what about a “Summer Snow” model with hardened salt in the gaps between the controller’s buttons? Let’s? Game? We can’t, because it’d be full of salt. The motherboard and wiring would rust.”

I don’t know about you, but I’m game. Rust be damned.

NieR: Automata has been announced for a Japanese release on PS4 on February 23rd. The west (and the recently announced Steam version) still doesn’t have a firm release date besides an “early 2017” window.
