Originally released at the beginning of last year, NieR: Automata became an unexpected critical and commercial success thanks to its unique blend of action and RPG elements inside of an unconventional and emotionally-gripping story, and now the game has crossed a significant new sales milestone well over a year after its initial release.The official Japanese Twitter account for the NieR series revealed today that NieR: Automata, the acclaimed action-RPG that released early last year, has reached over three million copies sold worldwide on both PS4 and PC, across physical shipments and digital sales on both platforms.This news comes just a few months after the game's sales were reported at 2.5 million copies across both physical shipments and digital sales, which speaks well to the fact that NieR: Automata has had longterm sales success over a year after its release. Hopefully, these signs point to will point to interest in making another installment of the unique RPG series from Square and PlatinumGames, with the developer currently at work on Bayonetta 3 for Nintendo Switch, among other titles like World of Demons for mobile.NieR: Automata is available now on PS4 and PC.
