NieR:Automata BECOME AS GODS Edition Coming to Xbox Game Pass in April

If you happen to have Xbox's Game Pass, NieR:Automata BECOME AS GODS Edition will be available on the service starting April 2nd.

On the heels of the revealed NieR Repilcant ver.1.22474487139, which is a upgraded version of the original NieR, Xbox One owners received some great news of their own. NieR:Automata BECOME AS GODS Edition will come to Xbox Game Pass on April 2nd:

Also announced recently was the NieR Re[in]carnation title, a free-to-play mobile game being developed by Applibot for iOS and Android. The game has also surpassed 4.5 million copies sold as of March 2020 since its launch, which is a huge achievement in a franchise that has retained its cult status since the original NieR premiered. When it first surpassed 4 million copies sold in May of last year, Square Enix released a trailer celebrating the achievement.

Recently a dedicated fan has done the lord’s work and recreated 2B and 9S’s outfits in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, even going so far as to get 2B’s shirt gap in the costume.

NieR originally launched in Japan as two separate titles back in April 2010. Replicant was released on the PS3, while the Xbox 360 received the version Gestalt. The latter was the only form of the game the West would receive on either platform.

Both games followed the same story, but on different timelines and with different versions of its protagonist, Nier. Replicant stars a young version of the character who is in search of a cure for his ill sister, Yonah. Gestalt follows a much older Nier who is on the same mission, except the relationship has changed from brother and sister to father and daughter.

The NieR:Automata BECOME AS GODS Edition itself includes DLC which features “Revealing Outfit” costume for 2B, “Young Man’s Outfit” costume for 9S and “Destroyer Outfit” costume for A2. After completing new sub-quests in this downloadable content, players are able to play through the game while wearing these costumes from Replicant. There are also plenty of other DLC outfits included with the special edition. The music video titled NieR:Automata meets amazarashi “Deserving of Life,” a collaboration with the rock band amazarashi, is also included in the new edition.
