NieR Reincarnation finally got its Global server version this week, and Square Enix already registered over one million downloads for the gacha game - a special campaign is held for the occasion with every player getting 1000 free gems, and you might want to start playing the game now.

Should you play NieR Reincarnation?

If you've played the NieR series, but are completely new to gacha games and curious about Reincarnation, the sooner you start playing the game, the better. I'm sure you already know as much, but gacha games can be quite predatory at times, pushing the players to pay up for some time-limited characters or weapons. If you can resist that, and NieR Reincarnation so far doesn't seem to be bad on that aspect, then you should try it out. The game's battle system and difficulty make most of it auto-battle friendly too so sticking with it isn't a huge time investment.

NieR Reincarnation seems pretty f2p (free-to-play) friendly so far, though it's also a bit too early to tell, and it'll all depend on how often similar free gem campaigns and rewards will drop. The future is bright though especially seeing Square Enix is rebalancing the game compared to the Japanese server. We most notably got the Pity System from the start too.

Personally speaking, I tend to play gacha games for the story, ignoring the character collection component to avoid spending. If you're a NieR fan, while the story in Reincarnation isn't directly written by Yoko Taro, he's supervising his scenario team and they're doing a great job.

Simply log into the game, and check your gift box. Keep in mind these kind of gifts are limited, so again, if you're curious about the game, it's better to get to it sooner than later.

Square Enix will hold regular live streams for the global version of Reincarnation, introducing new events and content. Follow the Twitter above for future announcements. The Japanese version also has its stream, sometimes inviting seiyuu as guests. The 8th and latest stream happened on July 16. Producer Yosuke Saito and Yoko Taro are also working on new games together at Square Enix.
