This week's issue of Famitsu magazine includes an interview with the staff of NieR Reincarnation including Yoko Taro and Yosuke Saito. The magazine technically isn't out yet but the usual leaks are. The interview focuses on both the mobile game NieR Reincarnation and NieR Repilcant ver.1.22474487139… . Here are the details we learned about Reincarnation.

Through the interview, we learned that the young girl seen in the NieR Reincarnation's trailers and gameplay isn't NieR Replicant's Kaine. Many fans though it was Kaine, and it seemed like Yoko Taro is surprised and confused as to why people thought that.

The ghost-like character that's always following the girl featured in NieR Reincarnation is named Mama. They have a mother like role, taking care of the girl.

Lastly, Yoko Taro and Yosuke Saito said that besides the young girl we've seen so far, NieR Reincarnation actually features multiple protagonists.

Note that this is only a very small portion of the Famitsu interview. We might update this article with more accurate information and details, or publish a whole new story altogether when Famitsu magazine becomes digitally available in a few hours.

We recently saw some gameplay for NieR Re[in]carnation and got official confirmation it'll have a gacha system like most mobile games.

NieR Re[in]carnation was announced during a special stream alongside NieR Repilcant ver.1.22474487139 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. We also learned NieR Automata sold over 4 million copies.

Weekly Famitsu Magazine May 14-21 2020 Issue includes multiple pages of NieR content for the series' 10th anniversary, including new artwork, and photos of Enako cosplaying 2B. We'll be covering the NieR Replicant part of the interview in another article coming shortly.
