Square Enix held on December 24 a special Christmas live stream for the NieR series, featuring Yoko Taro, some of the staff, and multiple seiyuu - and in particular, NieR Reincarnation got a release date. NieR Reincarnation will launch on February 18, 2021, on iOS and Android in Japan.While NieR Reincarnation was announced in North America and Europe in September, the English Twitter account for the game hasn't shared a released date at the moment.Moreover, a new trailer for the release date reveal was shared, announcing the protagonists from NieR Automata will be appearing in NieR Reincarnation through a collab event. The collab event will start on the game's launch, on February 18. Note that it's very likely this will be a time-limited event, to attract NieR Automata fans into the world of NieR Reincarnation at launch.

The NieR 10th anniversary Christmas special stream lasted nearly five hours in total. It also included a segment on the NieR stage play with its actresses as guests, the NieR event in FFXIV with Naoki Yoshida as guest, etc. It was also the final stream celebrating the 10th anniversary of the NieR series. NieR Replicant Ver 1.22 received new details on stream as well. We'll cover it through a separate article.

NieR Reincarnation already got a beta test in Japan. A 2020 release date estimate was annouced then, but the game got delayed.
