Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the NieR franchise, Square Enix announced a new series of concerts will be happening in Japan, titled the NieR: Theatrical Orchestra 12020 concerts. The first three concerts will be on March 28 and March 29 at the Tokyo International Forum, Hall A. Two other concerts will happen on April 25 at the Osaka International Convention Center, main hall.

Some seiyuu will also appear during the events for some fun skits: Kōji Yusa (Nier), Ai Nonaka (Yonah), Yui Ishikawa (2B), Natsuki Hanae (9S), and Hiroki Yasumoto (Pod 042). Moreover, the Tokyo concerts will also feature Kaoru Akiyama (Pod 153), while the Osaka concerts will have Mai Kadowaki (Emil).

A new key visual for the concerts was also shared and its full-sized version is available below.

Similar NieR concerts will also be organized throughout the world in early 2020, in US, UK, and Thailand. You can check out the specific dates and locations here. These are only a fraction of what Square Enix must be planning for the tenth anniversary of the series, and multiple other events and announcements should be coming as we head into 2020.

I'm personally betting on a brand new NieR game with Yoko Taro directing it to be announced at E3 2020, seeing NieR Automata got revealed in a similar way. It's also possible we'll get remasters of the first NieR games. This would be the safest move and please many fans.

You can access the NieR 10th anniversary website through this link. The only piece of info listed for now is about these concerts. We'll be sure to tell you more as soon as possible so stay tuned.

If you want to read about Yoko Taro's latest antics, we've translated his video interview for Atlus and Vanillaware's new game, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. A NieR Automata novel was also announced, and the game is currently in Final Fantasy XIV.
