In case you missed it, Night in the Woods was originally supposed to launch on January 10th, but was delayed back in December to “sometime in February.” At the time, the developer assured fans that the delay was “all normal stuff” and that nothing was on fire, but rather was mostly because the small team couldn’t get the game optimized for a multi-platform launch in time. At the time, Infinite Falls explained that it couldn’t provide a new release date, as it “waiting on some info from outside parties as to the exact date,” but that it would have news of the date come around New Years. And it did, just like it said it would.
The developer also published a series of “real-talk” tweets about the game’s development, where it talked about how the game’s core staff is only a team of three all working out of their apartments, and that the whole team has only ever actually met in the same room 4 or 5 times over the game’s three year long development.
It concluded the string of tweets by thanking the fans for their support, and referencing to the project as a “miracle.”
Night in the Woods will cost $19.99 USD when it launches. However, if you preorder the game you can receive a preordering discount, for example, preordering on the PlayStation Store nets you 10 percent off. You can check out the game’s latest trailer below:
