The Original Live-Action Video Game Night Trap Returning After 25 Years; Coming to PS4 and Xbox One Spring 2017

Remember Night Trap, the interactive movie video game (aka live-action) developed by Digital Pictures for the Sega/Mega CD in 1992? It’s back. That’s right, today, Kentucky-based devloper Screaming Villains announced that it is bringing the classic back to PS4 and Xbox One, 25 years later, as Night Trap – 25th Anniversary Edition.

Night Trap is composed of over 90 minutes of full-motion video (FMV) sequences. The plot centers around a group of young women who are the targets of Augers, vampiric beings who yearn to take women’s blood. In the game, the player must switch between various hidden cameras, activating traps that capture the Augers and prevent the women from being harmed.

As you may know, Night Trap is notorious for the controversy around the game’s mature content, which led to its withdrawal from the market, and contributed to the creation of the ESRB.

Additionally, Screaming Villains has announced that it has teamed up with Limited Run Games for a physical PS4 version. Further details on this physical version were not shared.

Further details on the 25th Anniversary Edition have not been divulged, however, an announcement trailer has — you can check it out below:
