Today's issue of Weekly Famitsu included a special on the freshly launched (in Japan) The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV: The End of Saga for PS4, and it included a mini-interview to Nihon Falcom President Toshihiro Kondo.

Kondo-san explains that the Trails (Kiseki) series has reached a big turning point, and of course the developer is going to continue to work on it. They will enter a period of preparation within the development team, and they'd like to challenge things they couldn't have done until now.

That being said, they're already at work on a project (or projects, as usual Japanese makes no distinction between singular and plural) outside of the Trails series. Kondo-san cannot share more details about what it is, because they're still being carefully refined. Yet, he hopes that fans will look forward to the future of Nihon Falcom.

The most recent titles outside of the Trials series developed by Nihon Falcom were Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana and Tokyo Xanadu eX+. Yet, at the moment we don't know if the current project belongs to these franchises, or is something else entirely.
