Just like the changing of seasons, Nintendo welcomes in each quarter with a Nintendo Direct on upcoming indie projects lovingly titled the "Nindies Showcase." And following the notably short Nindies Showcase Spring 2018, we are left with a handful of really cool announcements -- all of which can be found in the next few months on the Nintendo Switch.

One of the bigger announcements of the ten-minute Direct was that LUMINES REMASTERED would be making its way to the Nintendo Switch in Spring 2018. If that title sounds familiar to PlayStation and Xbox fans, that is no surprise. The puzzle game originally launched on PSP in 2005 (in the US), later coming to iOS, PC, PS3, and Xbox... but never a Nintendo platform. Until now, that is. LUMINES REMASTERED will feature local multiplayer as well, for everyone that wants to enjoy Enhance Games'.

Another remaster coming to the Nintendo Switch is developer Asymetric's West of Loathing -- a console-exclusive grab for the Switch of the 2017 PC release. You may remember it from DualShockers' review in August of last year, or the memorable doodle-based design that we praised it on. West of Loathing is making its way to Nintendo Switch in Spring 2018.

However, the Nintendo Switch upcoming indie selection isn't limited to remasters. One of the better looking games to make the list is Just Shapes and Beats from Berzerk Studio. Described as a "musical bullet hell," the trailer was a mix of minimalist and stylish offering variety to an already-diverse genre. Just Shapes and Beats will be coming to the Nintendo Switch in Summer 2018.

Speaking of a really great looking title, we saw a bit more gameplay from Sabatoge's Ninja Gaiden influenced game teased earlier this year: The Messenger. Published by Devolver Digital, the game actually swaps generations as a gameplay mechanic -- with the protagonist warping between an 8-bit platformer and a 16-bit adventure. The Messenger is making it to Nintendo Switch in Summer 2018.

Also revealed in the Nindies Showcase 2018 are generally smaller games, ranging from pool titles to chicken-like Bomberman games, and a top-down zombie game that was too inappropriate to be featured prominently in the stream. You can check the full list below:

Something worth noting (and anticipated) is we no longer are seeing any "Nindies" being showcased for the Nintendo 3DS. While Nintendo continues to affirm that they will support the system, this may be further indication of lackluster developer (or at least indie developer) support.
