To the chagrin of old-school gamers everywhere, newer video games are consistently being released with more tame difficulty settings. The Ninja Gaiden series was once revered for its infuriating and devilishly challenging enemy AI, but this changed with the release of Ninja Gaiden 3. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus will follow the trend set by Ninja Gaiden 3 and feature a very easy difficulty setting, perfect for those new to the series or new to gaming altogether.

This mode is called "Hero Mode" and it will enable auto-guard when Ryu's health gets critically low. It'll also allow you to use the touch screen to launch flaming shuriken at enemies. I think auto-guard was one of the functions of NG3's Hero Mode, but don't quote me on that.  Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus will be available for the PS Vita in Japan on February 28th, 2013.
