Fans who have yet to pick up Nintendo’s latest handheld iteration may be in luck, as the suggested retail price for the 2DS will drop to $99.99 on August 30. The 2DS does not fold like the traditional 3DS models and, as the name suggests, cannot display games in 3D. The system will also come bundled with a digital copy of Mario Kart 7.
The New Nintendo 3DS XL launched earlier this year, with updated graphics and an additional control stick. While the 2DS has none of these features, it can play any 3DS game (excluding those exclusive to the new models) and still access online functionality. The 3DS lineup later this year includes games like Yo Kai Watch, Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer and The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes.
