The performance and visual issues that are plaguing the recently released Pokémon Scarlet & Violet games are no secret, and it seems some fed-up players requested refunds from Nintendo, which were actually granted. As seen in this Reddit post here, user u/Hotdog_Daddy claimed that they asked for a refund for their digital purchase and it was approved after an hour. The user went on to call on others to do the same, if they weren't enjoying the game, that was. "My $60 is gonna go to some more deserving devs," they stated.RELATED: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Players Show Off Poor Performance And Hilarious GlitchesVideos have been flooding the internet over the past few days, showing players clipping through the floor, players becoming giants, game objects appearing and disappearing out of nowhere, and, of course, the game running about as quickly as a PowerPoint presentation. For a lot of players, the performance issues weren't enough to deter them from greatly enjoying the game's good qualities.Others weren't so lucky, however, and have requested their purchase be refunded. u/sellouthipster claimed that they went through a similar process and successfully got their refund as well. The same goes for others in the comments, though some were less fortunate, stating that they were told that they would be given a response about the refund after a few days.

One user also claimed that the customer service representative told them that "given the situation regarding the state of Pokémon [Scarlet & Violet]," she was going to elevate their case to ensure the refund was approved. The veracity of this can't really be verified, but since several users claim to have gotten their refund, it's possible that Nintendo is at least somewhat knowledgeable of the game's issues.

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet's poor optimization has fans more up-in-arms than ever, demanding in droves that Game Freak, the franchise's long-time developers, overhaul their process and delay future Pokémon titles, so they come out more polished. Currently, on Metacritic, the game has an abysmal 2.9 user score. Its critic score is more favorable, at 76, but it's still one of the lowest of the entire franchise.
