Have you been yearning to conquer Super Mario Maker stages with a Nintendo heroine? Look no further, because Nintendo has added Toadette to the Super Mario Maker costume roster. (Side note -- that last statement isn't exactly accurate; Toads and Toadettes don't have a defined gender, despite appearances.)

Update 1.41 (available now) adds an event course, allowing players to unlock the costume. As always, if you have the base game, you will be getting the level for free. To access the level, head to the Event Courses tab in Course World of Super Mario Maker.

Toadette is far from the most obscure costume changes -- which many remember included a playable pigeon. The female-esque Toad made her first appearance in Mario Kart: Double Dash and has been prominently included in series such as Paper Mario, Mario Party, Mario Golf, and most notably Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker.
