Nintendo Announces NES Classic Edition Mini-Console; Coming in November with 30 Built-In Games

From its introduction in the 1980s, the NES to many is the console that got us into gaming with its numerous classic games, and now Nintendo is bringing the console back to allow gamers to relive those classics again with a new edition of the console this fall.

Nintendo has announced the NES Classic Edition, a miniaturized version of the classic NES that brings a new, compact form and will come pre-installed with 30 games ranging across the system’s diverse library. The full list of games that the system will include are below:

  • Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest
  • Donkey Kong
  • Donkey Kong Jr.
  • Double Dragon II: The Revenge
  • Dr. Mario
  • Excitebike
  • Final Fantasy
  • Galaga
  • Ghosts’N Goblins
  • Gradius
  • Ice Climber
  • Kid Icarus
  • Kirby’s Adventure
  • Mario Bros.
  • Mega Man 2
  • Metroid
  • Ninja Gaiden
  • Pac-Man
  • Punch-Out!!¬†Featuring Mr. Dream
  • StarTropics
  • Super C
  • Super Mario Bros.
  • Super Mario Bros. 2
  • Super Mario Bros.¬†3
  • Tecmo Bowl
  • The Legend of Zelda
  • Zelda II: The Adventure of Link

The NES Classic Edition will release on November 11th, 2016 for $59.99, with the console to also include a classic NES controller, an AC adapter, and an included HDMI cable (allowing the system to hook up easily to HDTVs).

The NES Classic controllers will also be available to purchase individually for $9.99, and can also be connected to the Wii Remote controller to be used while playing Virtual Console games on either a Wii or Wii U system.
